Quote of the Day. October 1, 2006

Filed under: Uncategorized — Annette @ 5:52 am

Today, on the way to church, driving with Derek and Darren Lee’s family, and little brother Dalen:

Dalen: Do you go to Derek and Darren’s school?
Me: No…
Their Mom: She went to school in Canada, honey!
Dalen: Canada?  …Is that kind of like Africa?

    What an insightful young man.

Of course Canada is like Africa:

Both have competing languages, different peoples speaking those languages and wanting to break away and form their own third world country.

Neither place has a REAL Thanksgiving (as neither have anything to be thankful for).

Both have large uninhabitable desert regions (one cold and frozen, one hot and arid).

Both have enormous amounts of space, but both seem obsessed with coming to America- the Canadians all live right on the border, waiting for the moment when we’re not looking. (Note: While the Mexican/American border tends to be rather porous, the Candadian/American border is LOCKED DOWN TIGHT. There’s a good reason for that.

And, on top of everything else, Canada and Africa are not America, thus, they are just like each other.

    Good on ya!
