Here’s where we are now! February 3, 2009

Filed under: House — Annette @ 9:03 am

It’s coming along…

And here are some pictures of a newspaper Charlie found rolled up and used for insulation along the side of the kitchen floor. It’s the St. Louis Post-Dispatch from 1942. It was really interesting to see how the War affected every single aspect of everyone’s lives. There was such a sense of loyalty to the war, and rallying around the cause. Not so today.

  1. Lyndell Says:

What, you won’t iron?! You’ll need to trade with all of the New World to fill up that spice race. It’s still green.

Is that junk from the plumbing work, or do you need a sediment filter for the house? BTW: what kind of plumbing does the house have: lead, iron, copper, PVC? I suppose lead was out long before the house was built?

  2. Annette Says:

I’m not going to iron in the kitchen, nor would any modern ironing board fit in that closet…

The junk is just from the water not having been run seriously for over a year. The house has iron pipes, I believe, but Charlie wants to replace all of them at some point because of all the junk that sticks to their insides.
