House update. February 24, 2009

Filed under: House — Annette @ 8:43 am

There’s not much of an update this time. Despite how much we’re itching to get the house finished, or at least in a more livable condition, we’ve been foiled by spending two weekends in a row in Springfield/Joplin.

We were down for the Joplin weekend first, then this past weekend we ended up having to go back to Springfield to help Charlie’s parents pack to move. They’re being transferred to Springdale, Arkansas, and needed someone to help them get kick started with packing (as they had yet to pack a thing, and they’re supposed to be moved by March 1). This weekend will be messed up, too, because Charlie has to speak in St. Louis on the Sabbath. At least we will finally have a Sunday again, though. I’m really looking forward to having a kitchen again.

The good thing about helping them move is that they were wanting to seriously downsize and were getting rid of a bunch of stuff. We ended up inheriting some very handy items, like a queen size bed that we can use as our guest bed. I hadn’t thought too much about it, but Robin mentioned that it was kind of serendipitous that they’re moving out as we’re moving in – so we get to keep all the good stuff. 🙂

I thought you lived in Fayetteville??

Is that double closets, his and hers, in the master bedroom?

Is that green I see in the bathroom mirror?

  4. Annette Says:

No, just one closet in each bedroom. I claimed the (smaller) one in our bedroom, so Charlie has to walk down the hall to the spare bedroom to get to his clothes.

The green in the mirror is the bathroom door. Sadly. The doors are still green.
