Cool find of the week: Veggie Trader. April 1, 2009

Thanks to Homegrown Evolution for passing on this very cool

and very new resource: Veggie Trader. Apparently they’ve only been up and running for about 2 weeks, but they’ve had a ton of interest. Basically, it’s like Craigslist but for homegrown veggies.

You’ve got a pound of spinach you can’t possibly eat? Either it goes to the compost pile, or you post it on Veggie Trader and someone buys/trades it from you. Everybody wins: you get some cashola or some other produce that you could use, somebody else gets some good homegrown veggies and no food goes to waste.

Yay for vegetables!
