#61, treadmill, Rec Center. Evening after the First DOUB. Blah. Treadmill seemed too fast, it was like 8pm, blah blah. Pathetic 3 miles run/walk.
#62, Friday, treadmill right next to the one I’d used the day before. Speedwork: 10×400. 400s at 8.0 mph (7:30 minute mile), 0.1 mile break in between at 5.5 mph (around 11 minute mile). Felt good.
#63, Monday afternoon. Week 11 Long Run. Should have been 12 miles, but because we are so close to the race I thought it would be better for us to taper it down to 10 miles. Ran through wind, cold and rain on our hilliest route yet, but felt pretty good. Robin and I both talked all the way up the Old 63 hill, which is a HUGE improvement. When we first started running the hill it was an accomplishment to just get up the hill, so to be able to chat all the way up it is a big deal.
Race in St. Louis on Sunday! Right now the forecast is thunderstorms, so prayers would be appreciated.
