We had a keynote speaker at our conference this past week who made a fairly provocative statement: placing TVs in the bedrooms of children is a form of child abuse.
If you’re not familiar with the research surrounding TVs, computers and video games (collectively “screen time”), and obesity and childhood health concerns, this may sound a little over the top. However, with research like this coming out all the time, it’s sounding more and more convincing.
Kudos to Dr. Neumark-Sztainer and Dr. Story, former professors of mine from the U, for continually putting out fantastic research.
